Lauren Acton (1959 – ) Has been refining her style, finding her visual voice and winning awards in national and international juried exhibitions since 2002 for her vivid impressionist oil paintings.
This exhibition features two break-through pieces Paris and Menagerie where chalk-like highlights break the visual flow with a sense of youth and freedom few artists can achieve while sustaining a mastery of the canvas and viewer interest.
Lauren’s exquisite use of color, giving her paintings a near universal appeal, is perhaps the most notable feature spanning all her recent work.
Ms. Acton’s work has been show in over 50 exhibitions including venues in Florence, Italy; Philadelphia, PA; Montauk, NY; Naples, FL, Winston-Salem, NC; Chicago, IL; and Las Vegas, NV. Her works are held in private collections internationally.
Ms. Acton began her arts career as commercial fabric designer after attending the Fashion Institute of Design in NYC. She then continued her artistic studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Studio for Advanced Studies and then earned an MFA in painting from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley College.
She resides in Wayne, PA her original hometown.
